We’re in the full swing of baby-led weaning, so I grabbed this set of PandaEar utensils to help our little one learn. The spoons are the absolute star of the show. The short, thick handle is incredibly easy for my baby’s small hands to grip and control. The anti-choke barrier is a brilliant feature; it provides a lot of peace of mind and really helps him guide the spoon correctly without gagging. They are perfect for scooping up thicker purees and yogurt, and they clean up so easily. We have the Blue, Green & Tan set and the colors are really nice and modern. The spoons alone almost make the set worth it. However, the forks are a different story. They are essentially useless for actually spearing food. The tines are made of the same soft, flexible silicone as the rest of the utensil, which means they are too thick and flimsy to pierce anything, even soft foods like banana or avocado. It just mashes the food around. My son ends up just chewing on it like a teether. So, while we use the spoons daily, the forks just take up space in the drawer. For this reason, I can’t give it a full five stars.
